Rights and Copyright
Plunge will publish content in three ways. Each way requires a different right be purchased. The first right listed below is required for a work to be included in Plunge, the other two are optional.
- First English online rights exclusive from time of purchase to three months and one week after publishing, after which point, rights revert back to the creator. If a work is not published within a year of its rights being purchased, the rights revert to the creator. After the rights revert, the creator may request their work be removed from the members-only archive. We do hope, however, that they will allow their work to remain on the site.
- First English ePub, Mobi, and PDF rights exclusive from time of purchase to three months and one week after publishing and non-exclusive rights to the same thereafter. This is to allow Plunge to include each creator's work in the eBook version of each issue and to continue selling each issue after its online rights revert. A creator may refuse to sell this right. Such refusal would mean that the work was not included in the eBook version of the issue.
- Non-exclusive English anthology rights. Plunge plans on publishing a compilation and/or Best Of volume. Royalties would be decided and calculated at the time of the anthologies' creation. Refusal to sell this right would mean that the work would not be be considered for inclusion in the anthologies.
Plunge supports Creative Commons and will apply a CC Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs Unported license to each submitted work, unless requested otherwise.
